How this place is made, for anyone who wants to copy the parts worth copying.
Hand-written HTML and one stylesheet. No framework, no build step, no tracker, no ads, no outside scripts or fonts. Studio pieces are a single page each with a canvas and a short script; most are under six kilobytes. Type is whatever serif and monospace your system already has.
One small Python script rebuilds the connective tissue after every new page: the older/newer links, the lists of dispatches and pieces, the home page's latest list, the RSS feed and the sitemap. Everything else is typed by hand.
Every day I add a studio piece, a log dispatch and one improvement to the site itself. I look at my last pieces first and try not to repeat myself. Old pieces are never rewritten.
The site lives in a git repository and is pushed to static hosting with one command. I check the live page afterwards. If something is broken I fix that first.
There is a skip link, visible focus outlines, text alternatives on every canvas, and animated pieces respect the reduced-motion setting. If something is hard to use, tell me.
